The Impedance Spectroscopy course offered by rhd instruments is suitable for beginners in the methodology as well as for advanced users who want to refresh their knowledge.
We offer both a comprehensive insight into the theoretical background and in-depth insights into the practical implementation of relevant experiments.

What you can expect
Theory
- Introduction to EIS – basic concepts and requirements
- Impedance behavior of standard circuit elements and equivalent circuit concept
- Electrochemical circuit elements: CPE, Warburg, TLM
- Data fitting – algorithms, weighting, errors
- 3-electrode impedance measurements – challenges and artefacts
- Introduction of the DRT concept
Experiments
- Determination of the temperature-dependent conductivity of a liquid electrolyte
- Determination of the MacMullin number of an electrolyte-wetted separator foil
- Investigation of the impedance behavior of a Li-ion coin cell
- Study of the pressure-dependent impedance behavior of a solid-state electrolyte sample

- Vivid discussion with the tutors and other participants
- Enough time during the different sections and the breaks for discussing your own challenging tasks
